Professional Supervision

Therapists and counselors are constantly working not only with clients, but with their own feelings and issues evoked by “the work.”  Being in supervision is a way to gain more insight into a practitioner’s individual style and look at how it is working, help prevent feelings that arise before, during and after sessions from being acted on in the sessions, and improve their skills as a therapist.

For those interested in Colorado licensure, hours in supervision can be credited toward requirements for the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC).  And, for group leaders, supervision hours can count toward certification as a Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP) offered by the American Group Psychotherapy Association.
