Living the Full Catastrophe: A Day of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

This experiential workshop will offer user-friendly techniques for dealing with stress and for cultivating our deepest potential for living a full and satisfying life. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a well-recognized approach which has been shown to be effective in reducing stress, depression, and anxiety; enhancing communication and health; fostering courage in difficult situations; and supporting overall well-being. The day will include an introduction to the theory of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, guided instruction in the mindfulness practices used in MBSR (body scan, sitting and walking meditation, hatha yoga), and discussion of the benefits and applications of mindfulness in daily life.

7-day Silent Mindfulness Meditation Retreat

This week-long silent retreat – based on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teachings developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and Saki Santorelli at the University of Massachusetts Medical School – includes mindfulness meditation practice and instructions, talks by senior teachers, movement exercises, and contemplative practices.

Mindfulness Meditation Retreat fulfills the retreat prerequisite for attending Oasis Institute training programs.

Mindfulness in Everday Life Online Course

5-week video course with interactive online community

Janet presents the practice of peaceful abiding meditation and guidance on how to establish a meditation practice. We often hear that meditation can improve the quality of life, but it can be challenging too. Learn how to recognize and deal with the obstacles. By deepening our understanding of ourselves through the practice of meditation, we more fully become who we already are. In addition, participants will receive:

   Shamatha yoga instruction
   Downloadable guided meditation
